The VTO is a course about teaching techniques where the participants exposed to specific teaching methods in the vocational field with the aim to produce competent skills instructors.
A VTO graduate is qualified to apply for position of Skills Instructor in any private centres accredited by the Department of Skills Development.
i. Malaysian citizens aged between 20 and 35 years
ii Holds an SPM or SVM with a pass in Malay and History Subject (for SPM candidates from 2013 onwards)
iii. Has any one of the following qualifications:
a) Advanced Malaysian Skill Diploma (DLKM); or
b) Malaysian Skill Diploma (DKM); or
c) Malaysian Skill Certificate Level 3
TRAINING DURATION: 9 ½ Months
The training duration for the Vocational Methodology is 3½ months conducted in CIAST and CSC while an internship training duration is 6 months at a public or private skill training institution
INTAKE
There are Three (3) intakes per year, i.e. in January, May and September.
